's put him if a little perspective politically. kerry served as president obama's mock debate partner during his re-election campaign. but he has pressured the administration at times urging the white house last year to speed up with the draul of u.s. troops from afghanistan. kerry was also influential in the administration's decision to intervene in libya. in case you forgot from his 2004 bid for the white house, he is one of the wealthiest members of the senate. he and wife teresa, heir to the heinz ketchup fortune are worth $180 million with a wide range of investments. in a letter to the state department legal adviser, kerry said he will divest any holdings that could be a conflict of interest within 90 days of being confirmed. he'll be introduced to day about the the current secretary hillary clinton. >>> today's appearance expected to take on a much different tone than the tough questioning she faced yesterday about the deadly attack against the u.s. consulate in benghazi. >> when you're in these positions, the last thing you want to do is interfere with any other process going
, was a gift to political journalists, that denver debate. b, it said so much about who obama was. the fact that was the day he didn't feel he needed to really deliver, but more importantly to me one of the most powerful scenes in the book is the young obama staffers in chicago watching the debate unfold and being horrified because they had convinced themselves that if obama was going to lose this, it was their fault, it was on the staffers. but what they saw last night was, oh, my god, our hero let us down. they were so shocked by it. >> one of the other revelations in the book is where you talk about the fact that the president faces at least ten, ten credible threats to his safety. and i guess that explains why following the inauguration speech when he was seen walking in washington, he was surrounded by countless numbers of agents because he literally can't do that without that level of protection. >> i mean, it makes me nervous to even talk about it. watching those scenes, i was thinking i am glad i'm not part of the secret services. it would be so anxiety provoking. and also the gun c
obama equal hitler. russell he needs to use the one hitler used.y political figure they know is hitler. so they use tight reference everybody. >> stephanie: that's right. tinker red, can't compare obama to president lincoln, more like obama and hitler. obama has not done mass genocide yet but he will, give him time. read your history books on hitler, you will see obama is doing everything that hitler did. then he says if obama really knows his history, he wouldn't be using the bible by lincoln. lincoln had slaves too. [ buzzer ] >> he is thinking of thomas jefferson. >> computer says no! >> hitler was our first president and he had slaves! [ laughter ] >> herp derp. >> stephanie: the right-wing is going crazy, because for the first time the president used the word "gay." >> right. and they were just saying oh my god, yes, it was like he was -- like a communist, the way he was giving his inaugural address. >> stephanie: take a listen to american family radio. >> i believe in equality of the law for homosexuals just like i do for everybody else. however, homo
.d.r., but it was basically a domestic speech. if there's one thing i know about barack obama, having written a biography of him and having some contact with him, the one thing he is cop standpointly asking about when it comes to israeli politics is who is my constituency? in other words, if i am going to spend political capital-- which i have a limited amount of for the collected number of issues i have to deal with for a certain period of time-- who am i appealing to? and that is something that came out ofeate election. it has to be a little more encouraging than it could have been. not enormously but under encouraging than if bennett had come in second or third and the likud list had triumphed. no question. >> it's a major-- look, the election -- >> rose: go ahead. >> it's a major change today compared to what you thought it was 48 urs ago. >> on the other hand-- >> and yair lapid is not sustainable change. >> i do think it's sustainable change. >> rose: it's not one election with one-- >> absolutely. looking, i don't think beebe is opposed to a transaction with the palestinians. i know that for sure.
obama in 2008, something changed that had been the case for 16 years. from 1992 to 2008, the two co-villains in the republican party sort of narrative of the american politics were bill and hillary clinton and every minute of every day the republicans were attacking the clintons over everything and the minute they were not the face of the democrat party the clintons came to play a new role in sort of a republican narrative. they were the good democrats that represented the bygone era and fell to me watching the hearings, yes, i believe she handled herself very well, a masterful performance but if she decides to run for president in 2016, it is back to what life used to be like for her, where every single day, every single way, republicans whether it's libya, whether it's anything else, you know as well as i do they'll find whatever it takes to go after her and the great psychological question of the next few months and years. does she want to live through that again or decide, you know what? i'd rather do something else with the time i've got. >> much more popular as a servant than
